SHERWOOD SCUBA - INNOVATION, QUALITY, PERFORMANCE FOR 70 YEARS

The team at Sherwood Scuba is elated to be celebrating our 70th Anniversary in the dive industry. Seventy years is a long time for any company to be in business, and we are proud to be one of a few pioneering scuba manufacturers to celebrate this milestone.
Sherwood has been an integral part of the scuba diving industry since its infancy, making our entry into the scuba industry in 1955, after more than 30 years of designing, engineering and manufacturing compressed gas and air management equipment for use in medical and industrial industries. Through the 1950s and 1960s Sherwood parts went into almost every regulator on the market. Manufacturers staked their reputations, and divers staked their lives, on the dependability of Sherwood components. In 1972 Sherwood introduced the SRB-2000, which was the first complete regulator to be sold under the brand name. Going from behind-the-scenes engineering powerhouse to the industry spotlight was a celebrated advancement for the Sherwood Scuba name.
Over the past 70 years the Sherwood Scuba brand has evolved into a full line of dive equipment that remains true to our worldwide reputation for designing equipment that is simple, rugged, and reliable. Simplified design and ingenious technology: that’s the Sherwood motto. There are enough overly complex things in life; your diving equipment doesn’t need to be one of them. After all, that’s why people go diving, isn’t it? To escape momentarily, from life’s complexities. No phones, no emails – just breathe and explore.
Today, Sherwood Scuba, along with our sister brands Genesis Scuba and AKONA Adventure Gear, offers one of the most extensive product lines in the industry. You can find our gear being used on every continent – from the South Pole at McMurdo Station to the Georgian Bay in Canada. We would like to thank you for your continued support of not just our brand, Sherwood Scuba, but to the industry and sport we all love, scuba diving.
Please join us in our 70th Anniversary celebration. We hope you enjoy taking a trip down memory lane with us through our historical timeline filled with old photos and advertisements from the past.
